Enlightenment

At that time appeared Mara, the god of desires, who intend to obstruct the ascetic Gotama obtain the Great Enlightenment, along with a gigantic army. Army soldiers to the front, right and left, width 12 league and back to the end of the horizon, while the high nine leagues. Mara itself carries a wide range of weapons and sit on top of a tall elephant Girimekhala 150 leagues. Seeing such a large army came, all the gods who were gathered around the ascetic Gotama, like Maha-Brahma, Sakka, Rajanaga Mahakala and others quickly away from the place and the ascetic Gotama left alone with only a refuge to ten Paramita long been practiced. All efforts Mara to scare the ascetic Gotama with heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning, which reads in cessantly followed by other scenes that horrible and ultimately failed Mara cut all with Cakkavudha which was turned into an umbrella who calmly dependentand protect the head of the ascetic Gotama.

Earth has become a witness that the ascetic Gotama graduating from all trials and deserve to become a Buddha. Girimekhala elephant knelt in front of the ascetic Gotama and Mara disappeared and fled together with his army. The gods are out of the way when Mara arrived with his army to come back and all rejoiced with the success of the ascetic Gotama.

After successfully defeating Mara, the ascetic Gotama obtain Pubbenivasanussatiñana, that is wisdom to be able to see the light of His birth the first birth. This occurred at the time the first case, it between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 22:00. At the time of the second case, it between the hours of 22:00 to 02:00, the ascetic Gotama obtain Cutupapatañana, that is wisdom to be able to see the light of death and rebirth again from the creatures in accordance with a pile of their own karma. Stacks of different karma is what makes one different creature from another creature. This capability isalso called Dibbacakkhuñana, that is wisdom from God's eyes. At the time the third case, namely between the hours of 02:00 to 4:00 in the morning, the ascetic Gotama obtain Asavakkhayañana, the wisdom that can thoroughly remove all Asava (very subtledefilements).

Thus he understands the reason for all evils and also understand how to eliminate them. With this he has become the wisest person in the world who can answer questions submitted to him. Now he gets an answer on how to end suffering, sadness, unhappiness, old age and death. His inner calm down once and full of peace, now that he understands all the issues of life and he has become a Buddha. With advance luminous bright, full of happiness, the ascetic Gotama in a loud voice screeched out the victory as follows:

"Anekajati samsaram
Sandhavissam anibbissam
Gahakarakam gavesanto
Dukkha teak punappunam
Gahakaraka! dittho'si
Na Punageham kahasi
Sabba to phasuka bhagga
Gahakutam visamkhitam
Visamkharagatam cittam
Tanhanam khayamajjhaga. "

Meaning:
"In vain I searched for this Home Builder
Running round and round in circles rebirth
Painful rebirth of in exhaustible
Oh, Creator Home, now I know
You will not be able to make home again
All root i have broken
all the joints you have, i unloading.
My inner now reached a state of nirvana
And ended all desire passions. "

It is reported that at that moment the earth trembled with joy and in the air the faint sound of melodious music, the whole place was filled with the presence of gods who participated happy and want to see people who reached the Supreme Enlightenment and became Buddha , the trees suddenly bloom and spreading the fragrance all over, the forest animals who are usually hostile to each other at that time can coexist peacefully.
