Imprisoned in the Forest Uruvela

From the banks of the River Anoma, Prince went to the mango garden in Anupiya. After seven days of stay in Anupiya, Prince on a morning walk in the direction Rajagaha to start by asking for food to residents. The arrival of the Prince in Rajagaha has received attention of an aide to King Bimbisara that continues to follow up on Pandavapabbata, Prince resting place for a meal of the trip around it. King Bimbisara reported about the arrival of a hermit who looks her face looks great and now is resting in Pandavapabbata.

King Bimbisara came to see the hermit Siddhattha and then ask for your name, the name his parents and why he became a hermit. "Why are you doing this? Do you have quarrels with your dad? Just stay with me here and I will award you half of my kingdom."" Thank you very much, Your Majesty. I really love my parents, my wife, my son, yourself and to everyone. I want to find drugs to stop aging, sickness, and death. That's why I became a hermit. "

"If my offer is not accepted, well, what can make. But hope you promise to first visit Rajagaha if later managed to find a drug. "" All right king, I promise. "From Rajagaha, hermit Siddhattha continue his journey and arrived at the hermitage Alara Kalama. In this place hermit Siddhattha (also called the ascetic Gotama) studied to Alara Kalama and in a short time had to equal the brilliance teacher.

In this place the ascetic Gotama taught the ways to meditate and understanding on the Law of Kamma and rebirth. Because they feel that with this knowledge are still unanswered about the causes of birth and how to end the old age, sickness and death, the ascetic Gotama continued his journey to find someone who can teach about it.

The ascetic Gotama then studied to Uddaka-Ramaputta, which in those days was famous as a  the most intelligent hermit. From Uddaka-Ramaputta, the ascetic Gotama gets a lesson on how to meditate so as to achieve the highest state of "Not Even perception nor not perception". Because in a short time the ascetic Gotama has to understand all the lessons Uddaka-Ramaputta, then the teacher asked that he continue to stay in that place to get together to nurture her students are aplenty.
But the ascetic Gotama was not satisfied because he still has not got an answer on how to end the old age, sickness, and death.

The ascetic Gotama then went to Senanigama in Uruvela and this is where the ascetic Gotama together with 5 other hermit (Bhaddiya, Vappa, Mahanama, Assaji, and Kondanna) practiced in many ways self-mortification. They train themselves by hanging themselves in the sun at noon and at midnight dip in the river for a long time. Because it is still just does not work, then the ascetic Gotama then do the exercises more severe again.

He pressed his teeth and pressed hard palate so that the sweat pouring out from his armpit. So great the pain so it can be likened to a strong person who holds a gallant who is weak in the head or neck and pressed with a vengeance. With such great pain suffered by her body she tried to keep his mind not to cling, always alert, calm and firmand tenacious in his efforts.

After trying for some time and see that this effort did not take him to the Supreme Enlightenment, he stopped and tried another way. He then bit by little bit to hold his breath until his breathing was no longer get out through the nose or mouth, but with ahorrible hissing sound out through the ear hole. Then arose a great pain in the head and the abdomen followed by heat that spread throughout the body.
With such great pain suffered by his body, he thought he was trying to do melekay, always alert, calm and firm and tenacious in his efforts.

After trying for some time and see that this effort did not take him to the Supreme Enlightenment, he stopped and tried another way. Furthermore, he fasted and did not eat anything for days or reduce eat little by little to eat only a few grains of rice a day. Of course, his health deteriorated and his once skinny. Kala belly is pressed then the spinecan be held and if his back is pressed then the stomach can hold. He is living with the skull bones covered with skin and flesh is not there anymore.  his skin changed its color to black and his hair fall out a lot. If it stands can not be silent because of his legstrembling.
Like the previous ways, he then saw that this approach does not take him to the Supreme Enlightenment. Suddenly arose in his mind's three parables that had never occurred.

First:
Had a piece of wood placed in the water and another one carrying a piece of wood (which is used to make fire by rubbing them) and he thought, "I want to make a fire, I want to get the heat." This guy is not possible to create fire from wood that was wet and it will only get fatigue and sadness.
Similarly, the ascetics and Brahmins who are still tied to the lusts pleasure and inner senses still want to enjoy it definitely will not work.

Second:
Had wet piece of wood placed on dry ground and another one carrying a piece of wood (which is used to make fire by rubbing them) and he think the, "I want to make a fire, I want to get the heat." This man is not likely to making fire from wet wood and it will only get fatigue and sadness. Similarly, the ascetics and Brahmins who are not boundanymore to the pleasure passions but her inner senses still want to enjoy it would also not be successful.

Third:
Had a piece of dry wood is placed on dry ground and another one carrying a piece of wood (which is used to make fire by rubbing them) and he think the, "I Want to make a fire, I want to get the heat." This guy can definitely make
fire of dry wood. Similarly, the ascetics and Brahmins who no longer tied to the lusts pleasure and inner senses also no longer bound, the ascetics and Brahmins it is in excellent condition to obtain the Great Enlightenment.

After pondering these three parables, the ascetic Gotama decided to stop fasting. After bathing in the river and want to return to his hut, the ascetic Gotama fell and fainted on the river bank. When sober he was no longer to stand strong. Fortunately at that time by a young herdsman named Nanda goat who saw him lying exhausted on the bank.
He quickly gave the hermit goat's milk so slowly ascetic Gotama power is restored and he can continue his journey to the hut where he was imprisoned. Since that day the ascetic Gotama fed starch water to restore strength and health and not long after the ascetic Gotama was able to eat other foods as well, and thus restored his health. But the five friends who shared an ascetic feel very disappointed because the stop fasting, ascetic Gotama is considered to have failed in the hermitage and is not likely to gain Supreme Enlightenment.

They left and went to the Deer Park at Benares. One day a group of dancers passing near the hut ascetic Gotama. As they walked they were joking and cheering andsinging with such a poem as follows:
"If a guitar strap pulled too hard, the rope broke, the song is lost. If drawn too loose hecan not make a sound. His voice should not be too low or loud. People who play it have to be smart to weigh and think. "

Hearing the singing, the ascetic Gotama lifted his head and looked with wonder to the troupe of dancers. In his heart he said, "It is strange circumstances in this world that a bodhisatta (prospective Buddha) should receive lessons from a dancers. Because stupid I had pulled the rope so hard life, so that almost broke upIndeed I should not be allowed to pull the rope too hard or too loose. "

Near where the residence is also a wealthy young woman named Sujata. Sujata wanted to pay my vows to the gods of trees because of their petition in order to be a boyanswered. That day Sujata send her servant into the woods to clear the place under the tree where he wanted to offer tasty foods that are delicious to the god-tree.

He was somewhat surprised when his servant to hurry back and told, "Oh, ma'am, god of the tree itself has come from heavenn to receive direct offerings Mrs. He is now sitting in meditation under a tree. How fortunate that the tree gods deign to accept its own offerings Mistress. "

Sujata delighted at the news. After the food is finished cooking, Sujata went to the forest. Sujata was amazed to see the god with the face of the great tree was meditating. She did not know that people actually thought of as the god of the tree is the ascetic Gotama. With carefully placed into the bowl of food and respectfully dedicated to the ascetic Gotama who thought Sujata is the god of trees.

The ascetic Gotama welcome this offering. After the meal there was a conversation between the ascetic Gotama with Sujata like below. "For the purpose of food do you bring this?" "My lord, food that has been offered to my lord I was greeting my gratitude for my master has graduated pleas for a child's behavior can be given to man."Then the ascetic Gotama reveal the fabric that covers the baby's head and put his handon his forehead while the member's blessing:

"May the blessings and good fortune always be yours. Hopefully life will you accept the burden lightly. I'm not a god tree, but a son of the king who had six years as a recluse tolook for the light rays that can be used to provide illumination to men who are indarkness. I'm sure in the near future I will work to obtain such a bright light. In this case the food offerings have helped because now my body became strong and refreshedTherefore, with this your offers, you will get a very big blessing. But my good sister, tell me, are you happy now and what life is accompanied by love alone and satisfactory? "

"My lord, because I do not demand much, then my heart with ease to get satisfaction. a little raindrops is sufficient to meet the lily bowl, though not enough to make the soil becomes wet. I've felt happy to see the face of my husband who patiently or see the baby smile. Every day I'm happy to take care of the house work, cooking, give offerings to the gods, to welcome my husband home from work, especially now with the birth of a boy who according to the holy books would be a blessing if we later died. Also I know that goodness comes from good deeds and misfortunes come from evil deeds which applies to everyone and at any time, for the sweet fruit comes from a good tree and fruit are bitter out of the tree full of poison. What should be feared by those who behaved well when it comes time to die later? "

Hearing the explanation of the recluse Gotama Sujata replied, "You've taught
to the person who should be your teacher, the simple explanation that there are more real essence of virtue is virtue high, even if you do not learn anything but you know the way the truth and spread to all corners. As you've got satisfaction, hopefully I'll get what I'm looking for. I, whom you regard as a god, asking for prayer so that I can successfully carry out my goal. "" Good lord managed to achieve the ideals of Sir, as I managed to reach my goal "

The ascetic Gotama then traveled with the bowl empty. He headed to the banks of the River Nerañjara on his way to Hollywood. Arriving on the banks of the river threw the ascetic Gotama bowl to the middle of the river and said, "If the time has come, this bowl will flow against the tide and instead go with the flow." A miracle happened because the bowl was flowing against the current.

ALMIGHTY Parinibbana Buddha

After struggling tirelessly for forty-five years traveling to teach the Dhamma, at the age of eighty years Buddha Parinibbana (deceased) under the twin Sala trees in Kusinárá, in the year 543 BC. Before Parinibbana, Buddha gave the last message to her students as follows:

"Be a lamp to yourself,
Be a protector for yourselves,
Do not rely on the fate of other creatures,
Hold fast to the Dhamma as a lamp,
Hold the Dhamma as a guardian ".
"O monks, Dhamma I have taught thee,
Study it carefully,
Nurture,
Develop, and
Train well
So the Holy Livelihood can be done well
And can last a long time,
For the welfare and happiness of human life. "

Some monks receive Parinibbana Buddha with full awareness and understanding, some others monks accepted Parinibbana of Buddha with mourning and weeping bitterly because of his grief.

Now the Buddha is gone, but there remains his Dhamma all time, serve as guide lines to achieve prosperity and happiness of human life.

Seven Weeks After Enlightenment

During the first week, Buddha seat and meditating under the Bodhi tree and enjoy the state of Nibbana, the state completely free from internal disturbances, so that inner calm and peaceful.

During the second week, Buddha standing a few feet from the Bodhi tree and watched constantly by the eye does not blink for a week as a thank you and appreciation to thetree that has given him a place to shelter while struggling to reach the level of Buddha. Following what has been done by the first Buddha, now even Buddhists pay homage to the Bodhi tree.

During the third week, Buddha walking up and down over the gold bridge created in the air because it is through the eyes of his god, Buddha knows that there are gods in heaven who still doubt whether he really has reached the Supreme Enlightenment.

During the fourth week, stay in the room Buddha gem stone created Him. In Buddha's jewel room meditating on the Abhidhamma, namely the teachings of psychology and metaphysics. Mind and his physical body had become so clean, so out the blue rays, yellow, red, white, orange and a mixture of all five colors. Now the colors are enshrined as the Buddhist flag.

During the fifth week, Buddha meditating under a tree Ajapala Nigrodha (banyan tree), not far from the Bodhi tree. This is where the three children Mara is tanha, Arati and Raga are still trying to disrupt him. They manifest themselves as the three girls are beautiful and seductive that with a wide range of erotic dance (full of lust), accompanied by singing a melodious and intoxicating whisper, trying to seduce and attract the attention of Buddha. But Buddha closed his eyes and did not want to see, so that eventually the three men left the goddess of lust Buddha

During the sixth of week, Buddha meditating under a tree Mucalinda. Since that time heavy rain, then came a cobra is enormous and involves himself seven times around the body and Buddha head, Buddha umbrella lest until exposed to rain. When the rain stopped, the snake changes its shape into a young child. At that time Buddha utter words as follows:
"Blessed are they who can feel satisfied. Blessed are those who can hear and see the emptiness. Blessed are those who sympathize with other creatures in this world. Blessed are living in a world with not attached to anything and overcome lust. The disappearance of 'Hyang I' is the highest blessing. "
During the seventh week, Buddha meditating under a tree Rajayatana. On day-50 the morning, after fasting for seven weeks, two merchants passing near where Buddha wassitting. They, Tapussa and Bhallika, approached Buddha and offered food of rice and honey. Buddha somewhat stunned for a moment because the bowl which he received from Sujata has been washed away in the river since time immemorial Neranjara and a Buddha is never accept the food with his hands.

Suddenly, four men from the four corners of the god of nature (ie Catumaharaja Dhatarattha from the east, Virulhaka from the South, Virupakkha from the West, and Kuvera from the North) came to help with bringing in a single bowl dedicated to Buddha. Buddha received four bowls and with his supernatural powers into one bowl.

Thus the Buddha to receive offerings from Tapussa and Bhallika. After Buddha had eaten the two merchants were begging to be accepted as a follower. They are accepted as upasaka-upasaka first and take refuge in Buddha Dhamma. Then they please be given an object they can take home, Buddha wiped his head with his right hand and givea few strands of hair (kesa dhatu = relics hair). Bhallika Tapussa and happily accepted the kesa dhatu and after arriving at the place they live, they founded a pagoda to worship this dhatu mistake.

After eating, Tapussa and Bhallika continue his journey, Buddha Dhamma which he reflected whether the find will be taught to the general public or not.
Because the Dhamma it in once and it is difficult to understand that arise in self-feeling reluctant to teach the Buddha Dhamma.

Suddenly Sahampati Brahma, Lord of this world, down from Brahmaloka and stood infront of Buddha. After giving proper respect, Brahma Sahampati said to Buddha, "May Hyang Tathagata, for the sake of His mercy to all human beings, is pleased to teach the Dhamma. In this world there are also people who feel a little defilements and easy to understand the Dhamma which will be taught. "Up to now request Brahma to Buddha Sahampati still commemorated with an application to a monk to teach the Dhamma, which reads as follows:

"Brahma ca lokadhipati Sahampati
Katañjali andhivaram ayacatha
Santidha sattapparajakkhajatika
Desetu Dhammam anukampimam pajam. "
Meaning:
"Sahampati Brahma, the Lord of this world
Concurrently his hands and pleaded,
There are creatures that seized with little defilements
Teach the Dhamma for the sake of affection to them. "

With the eyes of god, Buddha can know that there are people who are no longer bound to earthly things and easy to understand the Dhamma. Therefore, Buddha took the determination to teach the Dhamma for the sake of His mercy to kind man. His willingness was expressed by saying the words as follows:
"Aparuta tesam amatassa dvara
Ye sotavanto pamucantu saddhami. "
Meaning:
"Be open door Eternal Life
For those who want to hear and have faith. "

His attention then directed to Alara Kalama, but the gods immediately informed that Alara has died a week ago. Then his attention is addressed to Uddaka Ramaputta, but the gods also said that last night Uddaka died. Further more Buddha turned his attention to the five ascetics who had brought together to hermitage. The five men were now inthe Deer Park in the town of Kasi Benares State capital.

Buddha immediately went to the Deer Park of Benares. On the way to the River Style, Buddha met a hermit named Upaka Ajivaka. Fascinated by the Buddha that his face sobright, the teacher asked who Upaka Buddha. Buddha replied that He is a man Who is aware of and do not have a teacher anyone. But Upaka seems not at all impressed. He shook his head and then continued on his way, while the Buddha himself also continued his journey to Benares.
